Welcome to Vanoss Elementary!

Elementary Principal, Marjana Tharp, graduated from Vanoss High School in 1988. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a special endorsement for middle school social studies and certification in Early Childhood from East Central University in 1993. Ms. Tharp’s first Master’s is in Counseling and second Master’s is in Education Administration from East Central University. She received her National Board Certification as a middle childhood generalist in 2005.

Ms. Tharp dedicated the first eight years of her teaching career to the early childhood department, five years teaching third grade, two years in counseling, and this is her first year as an elementary principal.

Her husband, Chris, is the Director of Health Planning for the Chickasaw Nation – Division of Health, volunteer fireman, and helps coach summer league baseball. Ms. Tharp and her husband have two sons that attend Vanoss School. Her children enjoy baseball, basketball, academic meets, and participating in the after school program. Ms. Tharp believes all students are smart, special, and valuable.
